Trip Overview

The Great Migration – Key Stages Throughout the Year January–March: Wildebeest calving season in southern Serengeti – thousands of calves are born daily, accompanied by heightened predator activity. April–May: Light rainy season – the plains turn lush green, and herds gather in massive numbers in central Serengeti. June–August: The herds move northward; crossings of the Grumeti River in the west, and increasing concentrations along the Mara River. September–October: Peak river crossings in northern Serengeti – unforgettable scenes of wildebeest and zebras charging into the Mara River. November–December: Return of the herds to central Serengeti – zebra foaling season, vast herds across open plains, and highly dynamic wildlife viewing in central and southern areas. Weather in Tanzania – Between the Equator and the Green Highlands The combination of equatorial latitude and elevations of 1,000–2,400 meters creates a pleasant climate year-round: tropical, dry, and refreshing. General conditions: low humidity 30–40%; daytime 25–28°C; night 12–18°C. Mornings are often cool and crisp with clear skies. Short rainy seasons (November–December and April–May) add dramatic greenery and soft lighting without disrupting travel pace.

Customer testimonials

Real stories from our travelers — what they loved most about the experience.

"My son and I returned a few days ago from a private one week tour in Tanzania. It was absolutely amazing in all respects. We loved every day and have the most precious memories. Our local guide Mayavoila was very know-legible, caring and pleased us where ever he could. We saw two crossings of the Wildebeests, Chittas, Leopards, Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras aso. Wisely we decided on 2 inland flights, so we did not have too many hours traveling in the Jeep. The Safari route was chosen perfectly and the hotels and Lodges were all on a very high Standard, truly 5*! We loved the tented Camp Wayo especially. The food and lunch bags were delicious. I knew Another World from my trip 4 years ago to Botswana. The organization is perfect from A-Z, professional, prompt and kind. We loved Tanzania, but I would prefer Botswana as there are much less Jeeps and tourism. We will surely travel again with Another World! Thank you so much! "
